Welcome!

I'm so excited to be sharing this new post with you guys because what I shot was so personal, so near and dear to my heart. I recently covered a baby shower for someone I consider to be a friend so close she is practically my sister. Being an auntie to her babies just fills my cup with so much joy so getting to be there for her throughout this whole pregnancy all the way to the very end was so special, and I'm so honored that she allowed me to do so.

The theme of this baby shower was just florals and titled "A little wildflower is on the way..." which is so sweet. Anyone who knows Humaira knows that she loves anything soft and floral and feminine so the baby shower theme was right up her alley. I wanted to make sure I captured the details of everything as far as the decor, the cake, the table settings, and the sign she had up. I took a lot of the detail shots before guests started getting there so I could be present and attentive during the party.

I shot everything on my Canon R6 with my Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens, and I also shot some film on my Canon EOS 1-V with my Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 lens on Kodak Ultramax 400. While this is not usually what I like to shoot for film, it's kind of all I really had on me lol. The next half was just really capturing her opening all the amazing and thoughtful gifts gotten for her as she nests for the new baby to come. I loved seeing all the little clothes and shoes that people got because it was so sweet. Her kids came back at the very end of the gifts and it was so cute to see her daughter, open the last gift for her mom.

Once all the presents were opened, we ended the day with cutting the gorgeous and delicious cake she ordered. The entire day was just a lovely afternoon spent with your favorite girlfriends and truly just felt like a celebration of girlhood and community which is such a beautiful thing to be a part of.

I hope you guys loved reading through this new post and looking at all the photos we captured, it may seem like such a small thing but when you put so much love into celebrating a milestone like welcoming a new baby, it's something you definitely want memorialized. I'm so grateful to have been able to do this for her. If you guys want to watch the whole thing I have a vlog on my Youtube channel up for you to watch the whole experience! Until next time!

XOXO, MATHILDA
